Regarding the SAGIS and TRS data bank coop........
Regarding the SAGIS and the creation of a Master Data Bank of Section Breakdown Data - email me about this for our OK TRS (Township-Range-Section) data so that we as surveyors can share certified section survey information (section breakdown information) above and beyond the simple corner records that we all use. The original idea was to contribute two section breakdowns to get credit for one free one and to pay a small fee for the rest of about $5 to help maintain and build the data bank till we get all the sections covered in OK.
The simplest way is to provide the csv file for the SPC of each corner in the section and qualify as to its accuracy and datum basis of coordinates. Even if we do not have SPC, the relative coordinates of each corner certified will be a good start. Email me for more details and I will try to add more information to this menu to answer more questions about this system. Email me at
and remember to tell others and encourage them to sponsor this idea so we can set up an online access to this essential information to help each other spend more time surveying and less time looking for the base information as the basis of our boundary surveys.
Surveyors communicating to help each other with credit ratings of clients.......
There are various companies that will hire you who have no real intentions of rewarding you for your hard earned work and will go from surveyor to surveyor till they exhaust the supply.
These are usually construction related or home builders, out of State Construction management companies, or others who have tried to get away with this theft of our services, however can also be individuals. Anyone who uses our services regularly or occasionally can be abusive to the surveyor financially.
This has happened by Engineers, especially individual Engineers who need surveying data for their projects. One Engineer did this for many years in Sand Springs and Tulsa and eventually lost his license.
My fellow surveyors have finally joined in a unified effort to stop this injustice and now have a spreadsheet list of reported “no pay”, or “slow pay” or those who do not pay all their invoice for reasons we suspect is to get richer at our expense thinking that we will not do anything to keep them from the theft of our services.
Any surveyor wanting a copy of the list can email me to get it or turn in your list of bad credit clients who have stiffed you. This is not a common thing but we want to sharpen our credit reporting skills and join together to help our fellow surveyors help themselves and others who are just trying to make a living and do the right thing.
We hope to get a website setup to access for view, download, and entry of the offenders. We also want to give honest people the opportunity as individuals and companies to report credit risks to help us all spend time doing what we do best, surveying, instead of banking and collections.
